SUMMARY:Shiree Teng's "Measuring Love" framework
DESCRIPTION:Join Minnesota Evaluation Association (MNEA) for an upcoming event presenting Shiree Teng as she discusses her Brown Paper\, “Measuring Love.” \nAs a follow-up to the MNEA Book Club’s selection this year\, All About Love by bell hooks\, Shiree will share more about the “Measuring Love” Brown Paper and lead participants in a discussion to delve deeper into its concepts. \nPlease register here by October 1\, 2022. \n*Note: ASL interpretation will be provided. \nHere’s a snippet from the “Measuring Love” Brown Paper: \n“In this Brown Paper\, we call upon love as an antidote to injustice. We call for a catalytic\, decolonizing\, transformative love. We break open what we mean by self love; love for\, with\, and of others; love that is a community practice; and power fused with love. We discuss why it matters; where “we” are in the journey from the current state of this practice to where we want to (and need to) go; and how we believe we will get there. Finally\, we discuss how we “measure” transformative love\, or rather\, how we can know it when we see it and how we can document its power for change.” \nShiree Teng has worked in the social sector for 30+ years as a social and racial justice champion—as a front line organizer\, advocate\, network facilitator\, capacity builder\, grantmaker\, and evaluator and learning partner. Shiree brings to the work a lifelong commitment to social change and a belief in the potential of groups of people coming together to create powerful solutions to entrenched social issues.
