Board Member Roles and Responsibilities

BAE is seeking dedicated and collaborative leaders to serve in the following roles: President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Program Chair. Each position plays a vital role in sustaining the organization’s mission, supporting its members, and guiding its strategic direction.

  • The President serves as the chief executive officer, providing overall leadership and ensuring alignment with BAE’s mission and strategic goals. This role facilitates meetings, oversees governance and policy implementation, and helps drive the organization’s long-term vision. The President also supports fundraising efforts, manages the election process, and works closely with the Treasurer to ensure financial sustainability.
  • The Treasurer is responsible for maintaining the financial health and transparency of the organization. This includes tracking financial activity, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with nonprofit regulations, and managing required filings. The Treasurer plays a key role in financial planning and stewardship, helping ensure that BAE remains accountable and sustainable.
  • The Secretary supports clear communication and organizational continuity by maintaining records, managing correspondence, and documenting meetings. This role ensures that members stay informed and engaged, while also supporting administrative functions such as membership tracking and outreach.
  • The Program Chair leads the development and coordination of BAE’s events and programming. This includes organizing educational, networking, and community-building opportunities, working with partners to secure speakers, and evaluating program effectiveness. The role is central to fostering engagement and delivering meaningful experiences for members.

Together, these roles form a collaborative leadership team that stewards BAE’s work, strengthens its community, and advances its mission.
