Post with Purpose: Social Media When Communications Isn’t Your Day Job
Join us for a Baltimore Area Evaluators (BAE), Washington Evaluators (WE), and Eastern Evaluation Research Society (EERS) co-hosted webinar:
Post with Purpose: Social Media When Communications Isn’t Your Day Job
Most evaluators never set out to do communications. But whether you’re promoting a conference, sharing findings, or recruiting volunteers, getting the word out often ends up on your plate. You have no training and no comms team, and the work competes with everything else you do.
Meanwhile, social media is now how the world communicates. There are 5.66 billion users worldwide, two in three people on Earth log on every month, and the typical user spends about 2.7 hours a day on these platforms. If your work isn’t visible there, it can feel like it doesn’t exist.
“Just post something” isn’t a strategy, and without a plan it can become a second full-time job. This interactive webinar gives you a simple, repeatable approach so you spend your effort on posts that actually work.
Meet the presenters
Joanna Prout is a social worker, psychologist, and researcher whose systems-change work depends on reaching many different audiences. She learned social media by doing it: promoting events for Washington Evaluators, running communications as an EERS board member, and filling the room for local music and dance events. She’ll share what she learned along the way, starting with the fact that you need a plan.
Cambie Jones caught Joanna’s attention with a reel she made after the 2026 EERS conference. Cambie will walk through a practical communication framework and show how to turn strategy into content people notice, understand, and act on.
What to expect
This isn’t a lecture. You’ll test the framework against your own experience, watch a live “before and after” post makeover, and work through a quick exercise to build one communication idea before you leave. Come with a real example of a post or product that didn’t land the way you hoped, and leave with new tools, new ideas, and new connections.
Who should attend
People in evaluation, education, public health, healthcare, and training who want to learn about communications. No marketing background is required.
